After we packed up in the rain, the sun came out. We stopped at the visitor center for a postcard and headed out on 85 > 23 > 8 > 2.
We got an air filter warning on the truck – hardly surprising after two runs on the Alcan – and stopped at a NAPA for a new element, the Ford dealer being closed 15 minutes before our arrival.
Rugby, North Dakota’s claim to fame is that it is the geographical center of North America.
We decided to stop in Devil’s Lake, ND. The Spirit Lake Casino and Resort RV Park is beautiful. Our site is full hookup, has double concrete pads, trees, a “front yard,” and a view of the lake. Only $22!!! After some slots and prime rib buffet for $10.95, (and actually feeling a bit road-weary for perhaps the first time) we signed up for a second night, so we won’t be moving on until Monday.
