We are leaving Prince George tomorrow morning and we are heading for the town Kelowna, British Columbia and the Okanagan Valley. One of Marge's nursing school classmates lives there in Kelowna and after Marge contacted her she provided us with the name a brand new RV park in Kelowna. If the park is half as good as the pictures on the web site it should be a very beautiful and picturesque campground. The Okanagan Valley is a tourist attraction for it's lake and the agricultural activities including numerous wineries. It is an expensive park but I think it will be worth the expense. We plan on staying for a full week and that will take us through the Labor Day holiday. Thursday afternoon we took a tour of the University of Northern British Columbia and Andrea was our tour guide. The University is built on the side of a hill and is designed so that once you enter the building all of the University learning and administrative areas are accessible without going outside. A real plus during the winter. There is a short walk from the Dorms to the University buildings as well as long walk to the Sports Center. The campus is growing and there are now approximately 3500 students. Friday we shopped and relaxed and Saturday the Cox' and Marge and I went to the Farmers Market in downtown Prince George again guided by Andrea. This farmers market is significantly smaller than what we are accustomed to in California but the produce that was for sale was as good if not better than a lot of what we see in California. Saturday evening Andrea invited Marge and I over for dinner and we had a great visit and dinner. We were able to see her home and it is a neat and well decorated house. A lot of work has gone into making the house what it is today. Today we are getting ready to depart tomorrow morning. I need to re-fuel the truck because based on previous experience with RVs I don't want to be in the position of being broken down on the side of the road with a truck that is low on fuel.
