| We spent a day travelling by car along the Douro River from Porto to Pinhao. I was amazed as the temperature steadily climbed - reaching 41 degrees celcius at our destination! The Cassa do Visconde (where we are staying) is an old Manor house with beautiful internal tile decorated rooms, a swimming pool (yah!) and a superb dining terrace overlooking the valley. We are surrounded by vines - this is real port wine country. I think I've died and gone to heaven. |
