The Oregon, California, Mormon, Pony Express trail. A 19th century landmark which towers 830 feet above the plain. The pioneer's used this landmark as a guide on the trail to lead them in the right direction. Some of the wagon wheel marks are still visible today. I found it amazing that anyone would even think of doing this trail. The land is dry, rocky and sometimes there were washouts where the wagon would go.They also had limited food and water for drinking or bathing. They make it look so easy in the movies. I can't imagine anyone being that tuff today.
