From Pleasanton we headed back to the beach...This time to Santa Barbara and Ocean Mesa RV Resort. After switching to 3 different campsites in order to avoid swarms of kids at campsite #1 and swarms of flies (we were across from the dog park) at campsite #2, we finally settled in for a few days of ocean views and 70 degree temps.

Our friends (and Susan's brother and sister in law), Clint and Eileen Vocke from Ojai met us on day two. Clint, Susan and I spent the day just hanging out at the coach then met Eileen at Beachside Cafe in Goleta for a great sunset dinner.

The next day we planned to extend our stay in the area by moving to one of the county parks in Ventura. We figured that if we left early Thursday morning we could easily get a space for the weekend...NOT! We arrived to find a line literally a mile long. Apparently, lots of others had the same idea.

I recalled a conversation with a couple from Florida we met at our home park a couple of months ago. At the time, they had just come from Malibu having just spent a month at a cool RV resort overlooking the ocean...They just raved about it. Thank God for smart phones. I did a google search and found the resort they loved. I called immediately and even though they were in high season was able to secure a space for the next three nights.

While our plan was to return home on Thursday, it seemed a shame not to enjoy a few more days of ocean breezes and relaxation...So here we are in Malibu. We are so glad to have made that last minute decision!
