We arrived at Emigrant Lake late in the day on August 10. Jackson County Parks has built a great RV Park right on the lake with massive lake views, a water park for kids, full hookups, clean restrooms and showers, lots of recreation and the best part is that that the kids live about 15 minutes away by car.

We really looked forward to spending the next 4 days relaxing with family. Karsten had planned some really fun things to do while we were there. She is quite the concierge.

Day one...Spent the afternoon with Karsten and grandsons Bodhi and Drake. Karsten arranged a sitter for the evening so we could go out on a "double date". She made reservations at The Oregon Cabaret Theater for dinner and a live theater production of "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change". What a evening! The meal was superb and the play was FUNNY! Really funny!

Day Two...The whole family spent the evening at one of the many local wineries for music, food and of course some great wine. They have a wonderful outdoor venue and every Thursday they host a local musical act to perform while patrons enjoy a meal. Bodhi found some "big boys" to play with and soon we were making paper airplanes for the whole group. We had a fantastic evening!

Day Three... We met Karsten and the boys downtown for lunch and spent the afternoon wandering around Ashland.

(Side Bar) I have been wanting to learn to play guitar as I can't quite fit a drum set on the coach. I thought it would be a perfect hobby and I could spend evenings serenading my lovely bride.

While we were exploring shops I just happened to stumble into Cripple Creek Music where I made a great impulse purchase. I can't play a chord yet...But am confident that I will soon be able to.

We had a tasty dinner at a wonderful "Asian Fusion" restaurant and afterwards Eugene took the boys and Buddy home so Karsten, Susan and I could go to a movie. We went to see Eat, Love, Pray. We really enjoyed the film although it was pretty cerebral and metaphorical.

Day Four...Spent at the lake. Karsten and Eugene took the boys to the water park while Susan and I prepared a meal of fresh local sockeye salmon which I smoked, and lavash pizzas which were grilled on the BBQ. What a wonderfully relaxing day!

The kids were going to spend the night camping on our site but after a couple of hours watching thunderstorms over the mountains surrounding us, clouds rolled in and soon the summer storm was not so distant. The kids decided to opt for the drive home.

Sunday was a travel day. We met the family at a great local breakfast joint that had plenty of parking for our coach and tow. One last meal together then hit the road again. Next stop Pleasanton, CA.
