Had a fun day with my sisters Kathy (FL), Maggie (northern MI) and Carolyn (SE MI). Kathy treated us to manicures and pedicures. Maggie and Carolyn had never enjoyed either, so it was fun to see their enjoyment. We then stopped at a beauty salon and Carolyn got her hair cut. Back to the campground where we indulged with truffles I bought on the wine tour. Wonderful chocolate. Tonight we went to Notre Dame Mahogany room to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bob & Ida Lee. What a great time. There were over 150 people at the party. I was able to have time with Steve, Rob & Kim. When we were small they lived next door. It was a wonderful gift that most kids don't get. So there were 5 of us and 3 of them with a great dane named Franz. Steve & KathlCarbondalein Carbonale, IL. Rob lives in Des Moines, IA and Kim lives in Daytona, FL area. Then there are Fred & Deb Heaney who live in South Bend and Sue (Heaney) and John Barnes who also live in South Bend. Pete & Kym live in Evergreen, CO and Mike & Amy live in CO too. So the family is wide across the USA. When you add in the grand children and great grand children in attendance tonight there were 48 in the Shaffner-Heaney clan with a few grandkids and the very newest great-grand son Idan born August 2. The room was filled with old neighbors from Birmingham, MI; Deerfield, IL; Boca Raton, FL. People who danced and partied with Bob & Ida Lee through the years. The band played music from the 40s. The food was excellent, the company better than that. I am honored to be a part of this family.
