Our friends, Tony & Jackie, have never been to Colorado before this trip. That makes it important for us to show them some of the sights around here.
Marilyn & I had finished our coffee, straightened the RV inside, and fed the birds by the time Tony & Jackie drove up the hill to pick us up.
We drove to Garden of the Gods, and stopped at the Visitor’s Center to take a few pictures. Tony suggested that I drive from that point, because we are familiar with the places to see.
The next stop was at the north parking area, and we walked the paved path around the huge rock formations. It was beautiful and a fine morning to be doing this.
Jackie did well even though she is nursing a foot with a recently broken toe, making a long walk painful.
We made a stop at the Trading Post to allow the gals to shop a while, and then we drove on to Jorge’s for a delicious lunch with a margarita. (It was a cold Corona for Tony)
After enjoying this fine lunch, punctuated with lively conversation, we walked across the street to visit the Michael Garmin Museum and Gallery. We were thrilled to see the artist himself, although we didn’t get to speak with him.
One more stop, at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, for ice cream and a chocolate treat for later, finished up that visit.
We then took off to show our friends, the adventure of driving on the Gold Camp Road. The narrow dirt road with one lane tunnels and many blind curves was fun for all of us. We made a few stops to take pictures and spent some time at Helen Hunt Falls.
We then headed back toward the resort and had only one more stop to make.
Grocery shopping at the Safeway took awhile and we loaded the car with goodies before making that last push to get home.
Back at the resort, Tony and me agreed that a nap would be welcome, after a busy day together.
It is normal for RV friends to sometimes stay at the same place at the same time, and that makes it a welcome adventure to spend time together having fun.
It sure is nice for us to get to know these two good folks better.
Tony & Jackie are special people and it is a blessing for us to share some time in their company.
We wish all of you loyal readers could have been with us today. Since you couldn’t be here, I will do my best to post pictures which will allow you to share the adventure, at least in cyber-space. We hope you enjoy the pictures!
For sure………..Life is Good!
