We were up and on the road early. The weather was still warm (80degrees @ 8 AM) and there was a humid fog. We returned to I-70 and drove west through more cattle ranches and then back into corn fields. We also started seeing a lot of sunflower fields and the yellow was a pretty break from the green and brown. We stopped a rest area for a pleasant lunch. The temperature was about 85, but after yesterday it felt a lot better. We noticed that it was a lot less humid in western Kansas. We passed back into Mountain time before we left Kansas. Our destination was Siebert CO and Shady Grove campground. Since there was only 1 Passport America campground in this area, we made a reservation for the night, although it turned out it was not needed. The campground was a little “mom & pop” operation. They were so nice, but there was nothing there. The town was about 4 blocks long. There was a post office and small grocery store in walking distance, but no bank or restaurant. For an inexpensive little stop over, it was okay and we would stop there again since the price was right and the owners were very nice.
