Left for Branson on July 23 and parked at Water's Edge near Table Rock Lake. Very nice spot; no cable and unreliable internet, but a nice shady and level area. We were just down the hill from a swimming area and a short drive to where the pontoon was docked.
We met the Carlsons and Andi in Olathe, and then traveled down to Kimberling City from there. Jim and Mary Ellen, the Thiers, and the Brooks' were already there. We met for supper at Ahoy's restaurant. Boated on Sunday and Monday, and then on Monday night we drove to the Branson/Springfield airport and picked up Trenton and Ben.
We cooked breakfast at the trailer almost every morning - eggs and bacon or sausage and pancakes. We had bought a net....a tent like contraption which is just netting....and put it over the picnic table to keep out flies. It works great. Unfortunately, a dead branch off a tree over the trailer broke off and punctured a hole in the net, but John fixed it with duct tape.
On Wednesday, Jenni called and said she was very sick and was going home. We're not sure if it was too much sun or a touch of flu, but she and Kyle and Linnea left in the morning.
The rest of the week we boated and swam and enjoyed the family time. It was so nice to have Ben and Trenton there! We took them back to the airport and they flew back to Arizona on Friday evening.
Packed up on Saturday and got back to Lawrence in the evening. Had a minor hitch with the tip out when we got home. It wouldn't tip out and john had to manually turn it out.
The trip was hectic and not very relaxing, but any time that we can be together and with our children and granchildren is a good time!
