Caught the 11:30 AM ferry from Sidney this morning - US customs confiscated potatoes and peppers that we purchased at the grocery store 2 days ago, something about banded goods into the US.

The ferry ride was just over 2 hours and we were first on the row looking out the front of the ship, nice panoramic view of the ships progress.

We are staying here for 2 nights and then headed south.....

Emergency vehicles came racing into the campground. A group of people were on the shore when their boat started to drift away. The owner, an older man, tried to swim out to it. The cold water and the tide prevented him from reaching it. 2 other men took their canoe out to save the situation, but the canoe overturned. They all made it back to shore cold and exhausted.

Went to the post office to pick up our mail this afternoon as we haven't had any for over 34 days while in Canada but it wasnt there yet - it was only sent on Tuesday and today is Thursday, should be there tomorrow.

Went to a roadside stand for lunch. Had grilled wild salmon with cranberry sauce and a fresh green salad served on recycled containers, cost $7.00- sure wish we had more fast food like this!
