Our three days in Granada have passed quickly and we all seem to agree it´s been one of our favorite cities so far. Granada has a wonderful city center with lots of activity and beautiful colonial buildings and cathedrals around the town. We´ve made it our base to make day trips to other sights nearby like Maysaya, known for the artesian markets and Laguna de Apoyo where we spent an afternoon staying cool while swimming in a lake at the bottom of a crater - stunning views.
The highlight of the last few days for the kids however has to be the canopy tour and zip lining we did at Volcano Mombacho. Our adreneline-junkie children convinced Tan and I to do 17 zip line platforms and hanging bridges through the jungle. This being the first time they´ve zip lined, I thought they would be a little apprehensive but they wanted to try it all - superman, the monkey, everything. The kids earned the titles of super chica and super chico while the guides told Tan and I to be more tranquilo!
Tomorrow we head for Leon, our farthest point in our travels and then begin our return to Panama City, stopping at just one place for a few days along the way to break up a long 32 hour bus ride.
