Trans Canada Highway

Crossing Causeway to Cape Breton Island

We drove east on the Trans Canada Highway that skirts the Northumberland Straight between Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Cape Breton is actually an island that is separated from the rest of NS by the Strait of Canso. The road crosses the strait on a manmade causeway. Once on the island we drove along the shores of a huge freshwater lake, Bras d’Or Lake.
