Shannon with her Uncle Boone.

Again with Charlotte.

Playing cards.

Partying with Thelma. She is in white hat.

We have stayed pretty busy while here at Shannon’s house. The kids come out pretty often, so I have been able to spend lots of time with my Great grandson, Mason.

We had a very good time at my brother and best Buddy’s house. She made a big pot of beans and fried potatoes, and a delicious banana pudding for desert.

After eating till we almost popped, we played cards. This is one of our, and most of my family’s, past-time.

While there, my nieces, Connie and Charlotte stopped by and Herb and Willie were watching their grand daughter, Sidney, so we got to see some of the family.

On Tuesday Shannon made grilled pork chops and a big tossed salad. There is a new Meat Market in town and they really have some good meat. These pork chops had been marinated in a Chinese mixture and they were outstanding. I am going to town after while and pick up some good meat to eat on the road.

Wednesday I think we spent the day with my best Buddy, working on her computer. I had some new games to upload on her computer also. She also had gotten a couple and I brought them home to install on my computer. We always enjoy spending time with Herb and Willie. Thanks guys for everything.

Thursday I went and picked up my baby sister, Jean and we went out for breakfast. After eating we drove over to Kentucky and filled my truck up with diesel. It is always cheaper over there than in Tell City.

When we got back we stopped at my oldest brother, Joe’s house. He and his wife, Boots have both had a lot of health issues this past year. My brother has prostate cancer, and Boots had a very serious massive heart attack. I was very glad to see that they are both doing very well. We stayed and visited for about an hour, then I dropped Jean at her house and came on home.

We had planned to go out and eat on Thursday evening, but Shannon and I were both tired so we decided to just get some pizzas’ and cheese bread. It was from Papa Johns. I hadn’t had pizza from there in a long time, but it was really good.

I also did some work on the kids computers and finally talked them into getting Norton for their desktop and their laptop. The one they had was just not doing what it should. My son had to rid their desktop of a virus not long ago, and I really think this will help. I have used it for about 7 years and have always had good luck with it. It is always very important to run a full system scan about once a month.

On Friday I spent most of the day doing laundry. I got Shannon’s caught up and my own done. As soon as Shannon got home from work and took a shower, we were heading for Indy to check on my brother. He kept telling me that he was ok, but I wanted to see for myself. We left here about 8:00, Indy time, and got there about 11:00, Indy time. Surprisingly, they were both up, he and Charlotte. She has a very large house and he rents the lower floor from her. It is very nice. 2 bedrooms, TV room/living room, full bath, and laundry room which also holds a refrigerator, so he has a very nice place. And he is with family, so I know she will contact me if required.

He really hasn’t gotten any worse since we left, but we all know he will never get any better. He is retaining fluids again, but that kind of goes with his health problems. Otherwise, we had a really good time with he and Charlotte. We went out for breakfast, then later Charlotte made us some very good tenderloin sandwiches and lot of fresh produce and cantaloupe. We also played cards till we all got tired and then watched a little TV before going to bed. Thanks again Charlotte for all your hospitality and for watching out for our Dear brother, Boone.

We left early on Sunday, because Shannon had 2 different gatherings to go to, so I just kicked back and rested the remainder of Sunday.

Monday I did more laundry and spent some more time with my best Buddy and brother, Herb.

Yesterday we went in to town to try and get my new GPS worked on. I won’t bore you with all the details, but I got taken on this GPS. It hasn’t worked since I got it in June. I made the mistake of buying it on-line and should have gone to Radio Shack or some place similar. You live and learn. I will try to get my money back, but honestly think it will be an up-hill battle. So, yesterday I went to Radio Shack and bought another one. Not the same kind. This time I got a Tom Tom. They are pretty simple to use also, and it was reasonably priced. I will try it out this morning and let you know.

Later yesterday we went to the small town of Holland, Indiana. That is where Mickey, Donnie’s adopted daughter lives. We stayed there and visited for a short while and then got the call that Donnie’s ex-mother in-law was in critical condition at the hospital, so we spent some time there. We did get to see Mabel for a few minutes, but she didn’t even know we were there. We have remained good friends with his ex-wife’s family, because of the kids and because we love them. So, right now we are kind of waiting to see how she is doing. We did plan to leave on our trip this morning, but think we should wait.

Yesterday, was our Dear friend, Thelma’s birthday. She was a young 75. She is also Shannon’s Mother in-law. She is battling cancer right now, so wanted to take this chance to celebrate with her. We all went to Marcy’s, which is in a little burg called Leopold, Indiana. Their food is unbelievable. We both had chicken livers, in fact 4 of the group had chicken livers, Linda had chicken, Shannon had shrimp, Mark and Tex, Thelma’s husband, had steaks and Frank had Tacos. We had a lot of fun and good conversation. I took a picture and will share with you.

As you can see we have been quite busy while here, but are planning to leave here in the morning.

You all stay safe and I will talk to you later. :)
