|We left Otavalo at 130pm and arrived in Quito at about 430. That night we had our last ever group meal at a mexican place. Then we went onto a bar called Patatus which the owner Alfie, opened up just for us as its normally cloded on a Sunday. Had a great night. Said goodbye to Katy, James and Carole as they wouldnt be around the next day. Eventually made it to bed and woke up on Monday morning feeling GREAT! Ha Ha. Had a lovely breakfast and then me and Paula pottered around for a bit doing not much! Went to a shopping mall with Ian, Luce and Paula then had a kip til we went for dinnner to a nice Thai place with crap service!! Said more goodbyes to Matt, Hannah and Penny, Bill and Anita.
On the 17th went for brekkie with Brett, Rich, Luce and Paula. Said goodbye to the guys and then at 10 a tearful goodbye to my fellow team Higgins (long story!) members Luce and Paula. I think they will miss me a lot (heh heh) Yet more goodbyes at 11 to Pedro, Keith and Ian when my taxi came a took me to the airport. Wish i had another day in Quito as I didnt get to see much of the place at all and it seemed nice, if a bit dodgy at night.
Gonna miss truck life but quite glad to get off in the end! Cant believe its over!!
Next stop, Antigua Guatemala to see the lovely Jo Wignall who has been living there for a year now doing salsa, kissing boys and, oh yeah, some worthy voluntary work!!
