Happy 4th of July from Ocean City, MD. We arrived on the 2nd. And Gary & Liz came out to our campsite and took us out for dinner at an Italian place. It was good and really nice after a traveling day plus we got to visit with them. On the 3rd. we rode the bus from the campground into Ocean City to the boardwalk, which is several miles long on the beach with lots of stores for shopping and 2 amusement parks with rides. But that is not a good subject because all the rides had a 48” height and when Naomi stood by their sign, she was an inch short. She was happy again when we found a candy store on the boardwalk. It was really hot and humid. Gary & Liz came down and met us and we walked a while and tried to find shade to sit a while, then walked again. Gary & Dave and Naomi walked the long boardwalk out to the ocean beach; it was full of umbrellas and people sitting under them. They were flying lots of kites on the beach, not kites like we used to have but huge really neat ones. Was a great day and then we took the bus to a neat seafood buffet where we all ate too much good food. I think Naomi ate all the shrimp and crab she could hold. We rode the bus to Gary & Liz’s condo and they drove us home. On the morning of the 4th. Dave did laundry while I took Naomi to the waterpark. She had a great time but it sure was hot in the sun. In the afternoon we took the campground bus back into Ocean City and then the city bus to Gary & Liz’s condo where Naomi & I went swimming in their inside Olympic size pool and then ordered in some yummy pizza and waited on the balcony for the fireworks to begin. We were so lucky on the 18th floor we could see fireworks from across the bay, people in their homes shooting off rockets and even the next condo over had quite a display behind their condo. Then the big ones started, we had fireworks from Delaware and Ocean City. I got some nice shots of fireworks from up high. We enjoyed desert after and then they gave us a ride home. What a great visit we had. That is one of the things I love about this lifestyle is the opportunity to stop and see relatives and friends as we visit new areas or return to some. It is still very hot and I am a little worried about our next 3 days on Assateague Island with no hookups but we will see what happens, I guess I grew up without air-conditioning for quite awhile and lots of people still don’t have it. We are just spoiled. Anyway tomorrow is probably a new record of our shortest day, it is 7 miles to the island of wild ponies. More soon
