View on the lake
| met a nice german couple in berastagi, so we made our way together to lake toba. tuk tuk is a little village on an island in the middle of the lake. nice weather, not too hot, cheap rooms (with warm water!!!). had met a guy in medan i was planning on travelling trough sumatra with and by the time we got to lake toba, we were already in a big fight about accomodation and comfort and him obviously expecting more of this companionship than i was! unfortunately, we had already booked flights to bandah aceh together...which i decided to cancel and return to malaysia, where it is save to travel on your own! another problem in sumatra...everybody smokes...everywhere...so on a 6h bus-journey, there would be 25 people sqeezed into a minibus, of which 20 would be chain-smoking!!! lovely! all in all an expensive lesson about how wrong you can be after a first good impression!!! |
