I’m going to try to keep this post short…LOL…really.
Joe & I left at 10:30 AM to go to Cripple Creek, Colorado. And we got back around 5:30 pm after at stop at the grocery store.
It was a beautiful drive through the amazing mountains and some very pretty valleys. The town of Cripple Creek is so cute. There are so many old buildings in the area. We had a lot of fun checking out the casinos. We are still pretty stingy but we do like to play the slots (penny slots, that is). We had lunch at Womack Casino…they have half price on all menu items for 50+ years old on Wednesdays. There may be other deals in town for meals but we didn’t find them (we only went to about half of the casinos in town).
We headed home just as it was starting to rain. It was really cool, but pleasant, in Cripple Creek…the altitude is 9494 ft.
We had a very enjoyable day. We hope to go back someday to see the other sites of the town, including the steam train ride. We also want to go to Victor, CO….not too far from Cripple Creek. It still has a working gold mine…….
