Had a hot tub and a great rest at the Nest! Up early this morning for breakfast at 8am. Met a young gal from the UK who is a novelist. She is here with her daughter from Blenheim in New Zealand. She is researching her next novel about a young teenage girl who gets uprooted from her home in England when her parents move to Nova Scotia.

After breakfast Dianne and I went for a 90 minute kayak paddle on the lake. Water was calm and the loons were out. Had a relaxing paddle. Came back and did a suitcase packing/weigh-in….looks good so far. Relaxed till about 1pm then drove to Dartmouth and left the car in an underground parking lot and took ferry across to Halifax…sort of like the Sea Bus. We took the FRED bus (free everywhere in downtown) and toured the tourist points of the downtown area. Got off FRED and went and took the brewery tour at the Alexander Keith’s brewery. It was really neat. At the end of the tour, Dianne had her first beer!

We then did a bit of shopping and then went to an Irish pub called Durty Nelly’s for dinner before heading to the Celtic Woman concert. The concert was fabulous. Music was great and their voices are quite something to hear. We had seen them perform on a PBS show once and we’re sure glad we were able to take them in on their first stop in a cross Canada tour. Back at the Nest relaxing before bed. Big day and a long day ahead.
