Motorhome in Campsite at Hope

Rock Bluff behind Camp

Tuesday 13 July 2010

We were picked up by the Fraserway Shuttle at 9.00am; there was a family already in the bus who had been staying at the hotel. We made two other pickups; all the others on the bus were non-English speaking and even the driver was a different nationality.

We arrived at the Fraserway Depot about 9.45am; the first job being to unload our bags into the Motorhome. The design was as we had seen on the internet; quite a new vehicle only having done 8,254kms. After a lengthy sign-in process and a full briefing we finally set off about 12 noon.

We were given a map to show us how to get onto Highway 1 but it tested Jenny's map reading skills and we made one unofficial detour but eventually made our way to the highway. We came off the highway and went into Chilliwack as we had been told there was good shopping there. We found Safeway and purchased items to stock up the Motorhome.

Getting back onto the highway was easy - quite a bit of traffic though and we motored east to Hope arriving about 5.00pm. The RV Park has pretty basic facilities but OK for one night. Dave took some photos of the Motorhome to post onto the website and also one of the big rock bluff behind the camp. There is scattered snow on some of the nearby hills.

On our drive we saw many market gardens; we presumed these were supplying Vancouver. The houses were very similar in design and colour; just like you see in magazines.

The temperature today was quite pleasant, overcast and not too hot.
