Bay on Eastern Shore

in the fog

more fog

Had a good night sleep in Port Hawkesbury and a good thing too as my back was killing me…too much time in the car I think. However by morning I had recovered. We had breakfast with 2 young girls who were working in the area for the University, setting up courses for the fall. The one girl could have been Jen Quibal’s twin, in every way, looks, mannerisms, etc. It was uncanny.

We left about 9:30 and the rain soon started, just as hard as yesterday at times and the wipers got another workout. It would start and stop all day. We were driving along the eastern shore but didn’t see much of the shore due to the heavy fog. We did manage a walk on Clam Bay Beach for an hour though. We went through some interesting places again: Sheet Harbour, Ecum Secum, and Musquodoboit Harbour to name a few! We arrived at the Elephant’s Nest B&B about 5:30. As it turns out, we saved the best for last! Wow, what a place. Apart from the warm welcome and beautiful room, there was a hot tub, swimming in the lake (23 degrees warm), paddle boats, kayaks, canoes and a beautiful garden to stroll around in. We are certainly glad we will be here 2 nights.

Dianne doesn’t know it yet but she is getting her birthday present early and we are going to the Celtic Women concert in Halifax tomorrow night. We saw them on PBS one night a year ago and have really wanted to see them live but they never came west. It should be a good one.

Well, I am off to tinker with some photos before bed. Looking forward to getting home though.
