Lots of buggies at the Shipshewana flea market
| An extended day for the holiday weekend so banks, post office, corporate America closed but most businesses open as well as the flea market in Shipshewana so we took a drive over there. Dick was thrilled to 'haul me' over there. ha! It was a hot day so we didn't last all day by any means but still enjoyed seeing what everyone talks about when they mention the Shipshewana flea market. We didn't buy much (socks & dish cloths). Then we had lunch at the Blue Gate Inn. Very good family-style Amish meal with lots of food. 4 meats (ham, meatload, roast beef & chicken) plus all the trimmings. Topped off with berry pie & ice cream.....yum!!! Did a little walking around the town of Shipshewana but it was really too hot to be out for long. All in all a good day seeing more of this Amish countryside. |
