Niagara Falls

Entering Canada took a while because of all the traffic and going through customs. The guy who scanned our passports had a fairly heavy accent and wore large intimidating black shades. He was kind of scary. Niagara Falls was beautiful, many rapids led up to the drop off where the water disappeared and mist billowed upwards. Birds kept diving into the mist, sort of like they were competing to see which one could go the furthest in. We watched the Maids of the Mist boats going up to the falls from both sides. There were also crowds of people mostly speaking a different language than English. Upriver from the falls a rusted barge was stuck in the middle of the river. Unlike the US side the city goes right up to across the street from the river. The buildings were mostly tall sky scrapers, one looked like the space needle in Seattle, but it was a restaurant. on the way back to the car we saw some small ornamental trees that had pink and orange flowers that looked like faeries. We also stopped at the floral clock. It had a large working mechanism and plants made up the clock face. However there were letters instead of numbers and they spelled out Niagara Parks.
