Maybe my worst ever Thursday. Got up about 5 am, and walked into a bathroom floor flooded with hot water……..seems I had, (once again) left the faucet partly on in the sink last night. The water backs up in our “waste water” tank, and filled the shower stall, overflowed, and was seeping into the bedroom carpet.
Think that was trouble?...I had gotten up with a swollen lump in back of that tooth that was hurting last night. It was 5am, (4am Biloxi time) and the start of July 4th weekend..and we were due to leave here for the tiny burg of Grenada Mississippi.
I had to try and find a dentist. I waited till 7:30am their time, and called the rv park office…they gave me some names to call, and assured me that they could let us stay if we had to, one more night. I called maybe 5 dentist offices…either no one there or they were booked solid. I was now in some pain, and tried aspirin and washing my mouth out with hydrogen peroxide. One office suggested an emergency care office on Pass Road in Gulfport…I got in the car and started looking…nope, they too were closed for the holiday. I drove on and did stop at one dentist office where there were cars out front…the girl at the desk recommended the Gulfport hospital…a fairly long drive down the beach…I started driving, then I spotted one more dentist….and he was there, and he could take me….he ex-rayed, said I would need a root canal sometime soon, but he could get me on penicillin for now, and I could treat it in August!!!!! So…the skies were getting sunnier….
I dropped off the prescription, and came back to the rv………and by now, after the dentist had dug around in there…it was starting to hurt really BAD….so…decided to take a couple of aspirin……..went into the bathroom, grabbed the pills and downed them with the half glass of water sitting where I had left it on the sink………………….
Yep, it was the hydrogen peroxide.
We called the poison control center….they said this might not be too bad, that they get several calls like this a week. Seems a lot of people leave half glasses of HP on their sink, and then come in later and down them without thinking. (We walk among you….)
I was told to eat a lot of bread, drink some water, and wait for the vomiting…………….
That’s where I’m at now….and I have not been sick….just a little nauseous. About to go pick up the penicillin. Can the day get a little better now, please……………………………
