We left San Sebastian today on our the final leg of our journey. We're traveling through the Rioja wine region en route back to Madrid. Today we stopped in a small town on the Ebro river called Laguardia. It is one of three towns that make up the northern Rioja region, along with Haro and Lograno. Laguardia is a small walled town on a hill that offers great views of the wine vineyards in all directions. One of the coolest looking bodegas (winery) is Ysios, whose roof was inspired by casks in a wine cellar.
We're planning on visiting one of the wineries today before heading down closer to Madrid. Unlike at home, there are no drop-in visitors accepted at the bodegas, so you have to make a reservation for one of the tours. English tours are offered once or twice a day at most of the bodegas, so we'll be on one of those.
