Edie's oil painting.

ILLINOIS STATE FAIRGROUNDS, DU QUOIN, IL ....TUESDAY

The temperature was in the low 70's when we awoke this morning. Not supposed to get above 85 today. Welcome relief.

We went up to Walmart and Autozone to get some light bulbs and CLR cleaner. Back here went over to the showroom and looked at the Discovery 40 foot diesel coach again. Told the salesman what I had and what I would be willing to pay. He said he would work on it. Edie and I were both scheduled to attend seminars at 1 PM, so we told him we would be back about 3:30.

I attended a presentation, with question and answer session, on Ford motor home chassis....which is what we have under our coach. It was interesting and informative. In the meanwhile Edie was attending an oil painting class, where she painted the picture that is shown above, completely freehand as the instructor demonstrates the techniques. We will undoubtedly have the sharpest looking train layout around when she gets done with the back drop. The lady has a talent...!

We came back to the showroom and met the salesman, who gave us the numbers he came up with. It would require me to put a hunk of cash down to get the payment I wanted, so we thanked him for the effort. We will be thinking on this some more as we travel.

Dinner was at 6 in the main hall...baked chicken breast or beef roast, with the trimmings and dessert. Plenty for everyone this time and very good. The entertainment was outstanding. Three guys with 30 instruments. They played 29 during one ten minute medley of songs. They were excellent entertainers and did the entire show without a break. Lots of fun...and volume on the speakers that was comfortable.

As we came out of the hall, there was a beautiful sunset happening. Perfect end to a nice day.
