Following the trucker through Benton IL traffic circle

Bob instructing

Bob has a gig to teach people how to drive motorhomes at the Fleetwood Motorhome Rally in Du Quoin, IL. He is one of the instructors with RV Basic Training. Most of the clients are women who want to learn how, or get better at, driving a large motorhome.

On the way from Dickson TN to Du Quoin IL, we were approaching a construction area that would delay us about 90 minutes. Over the cb radio, the trucker ahead of us asked if the 5th wheel behind him "had his ears on". Bob responded. A southbound trucker suggested an alternate route. The trucker in front of us and Bob decided to get off the interstate and go on country roads. Bob said, "I'm in your back pocket" as we went 25 miles and avoided the delay. The back and forth conversation was a riot.

While at the fairground in Du Quoin, we had to empty our black water and gray water tanks. That required completely breaking down the rig, hooking up to the truck and driving across the fairground to a dump station. While Bob worked,I broke down and hooked up. When Bob got off, we put down the awning and went to the dump station. Another chance for Lynda to learn how to do it all.

We got bad news yesterday that Bob's brother's wife had died in Colorado. We are changing the itinerary so we will be there for her memorial service on July 11. We are on our way to Texas to see Bob's cousin who lost his wife a few months ago, then on to CO.
