We left Cache Creek heading east along the Thompson River through Kamloops on 97. It was another long haul, on a really nicely maintained road. Not much traffic and again spectacular view. From Kamloops we went north east on Rt 5 which followed the bend of the Thompson River, up through McBride, and hooked on 16 the Yellowhead Highway. Then we began to work our way west through the mountains to Prince George. In between McBride, and Prince George we could see a very nasty black cloud as it suddenly started to rain. Luckily there was a roadside rest area where we pulled over to put on our rain gear. While we were stopped the storm intensified, and it began to hail marble size hail, wow I was glad we had already pulled over. In this part of the world there are not that many rest areas or places to pull over for that matter. We arrived in Prince George about 6:00, weary and a little wet. It pays to have good rain gear. We rode a total of 450 miles, one of the longest scheduled rides for our trip….I have muscles screaming I didn’t know I had.
