Hello Illinois.

ILLINOIS STATE FAIRGROUNDS, DU QUOIN, IL FRIDAY

The alarm went off this morning at 0710. Of course we both leaped out of bed.....not. We did get up soon and began to get ready to travel again. Coffee, breakfast (for me), store things, unhook plumbing and electrical, dump tanks, hook on the car and we are ready to go. Got away a little after 10.

We have about 220 miles to do today....almost all on interstate roads. I24 out of Nashville, thru Kentucky, and into Illinois. It ends at I57 and that goes just about due north. The last 20 miles or so, were on state roads which were good.

Hot in Nashville again this morning. Hot in Illinois when we arrived here at 3PM...95 with a heat index over 100. Forecast to be the same this weekend. Monday cooler weather, in the 80's with 60's at night, is forecast for a few days.

There are lots of Fleetwood RV's here....this is a Fleetwood sponsored rally....and more will be coming Saturday. I took advantage of my handicap tag to get a spot in the handicap parking area, which is closer to the main building. Some of the folks in here are in wheelchairs. I'm thankful to be on my feet, even if I have to use the walker or cane once in a while.

At 5:30, we were rested a little and the air conditioning had cooled us off, so we went downtown to BJ's Cafe to eat. We had a $2 coupon in our registration package. It was good home cooked food. On the way back we stopped at Kroger's to get a few groceries.

I got the TV antenna up...lots of stations with the digital converter box....and also the dish. We looked for a movie we had not seen on Direct TV, but most of them were already in the middle. They don't change time zones. I had taken a short nap before supper, but when Edie announced she was going to bed at 9:30, I decided that was a good idea. She was just about asleep when I got into the bedroom. I didn't read too long. It seems we get more tired on travel days, this year. AGE????

Tomorrow we will go to the big building, check out the vendors and see what all is going on...
