A Lazy Day in Camp
Jun 24, 2010
|We sipped our coffee outside this morning, sitting at the fire pit with NO fire again. We still have had no rain and the fire ban remains in effect here.
Marilyn wore a sweatshirt and I did not, although I must admit that I would have been more comfortable with a sweatshirt on.
It did warm up nicely by the time we finished our coffee and we were off for a walk.
We saw a deer before we even left the campground.
I did the mile and a half but Marilyn continued on and walked nearly three miles. She is losing weight and has a nice looking tan, so she is doing good!
We called Jennifer and spoke with her for a few minutes. She was at work so we didn’t talk long.
Back at the RV, we sat in the shade and enjoyed the nice breeze, for awhile.
I grilled a couple of small steaks for lunch.
In the middle of the afternoon we decided to close things up and turn the A/C on to keep us cool.
We visited for a few minutes with a nice family from Virginia, camped just below us in a Class C motor home.
They are thinking that they would like to full time when the kids are on their own, so I gave them one of our cards.
They are quite nice and we hope to see them again some day.
We got in touch with our friends, Richard & Diana, who live here in Colorado Springs, and we plan to get together tomorrow. I’ll be writing about that later.
For much of the afternoon today, Marilyn sat outdoors in her lounge chair reading her book, while I played golf on the Wii system.
I noticed Marilyn dozing off a couple of times.
So another lazy, relaxing, day in the mountains, drifts slowly to a close. We sure enjoyed it!
