Our new campsite at Manatee Hammock, Titusville

Low tide from our campsite at Carrabelle

We continued our trek to Central Florida today and again stayed on the secondary roads. We took SR 100 from Lake City to where it intersects I-95 and then were on I-95 for about 60 miles. Matilda told us that by going on the secondary road we traveled on average 5 mph slower than if we were on the super slab. That's not too bad considering we were seldom boxed in by semis. It was definitely an enjoyable and pretty trip.

We got to our destination around 1:30. We are staying at Manatee Hammock RV park just barely south of Titusville Fl. It is a Passport America park and right on the water across from Kennedy Space Center. It was a popular spot for viewing space launches until they came to an end. But most importantly WE ARE IN THE SHADE! After weeks of baking in the direct sunlight this is a treat.

We are still sort of fuzzy about our specific plans while we are here. We are contemplating the Space Center, JoAnn wants to visit the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge, we are planning to visit son Tim either here or in Orlando and we want to visit Doug's ex mother in law and take her to lunch while we are in the area. All this plus the gala party on Saturday for long time good friend and wonderful person, Pat. We will see other long time friends there as well. LIG. RVLIB.
