Covered bridge on the way

FRD out for a thrill

Covered bride on way to Sugarbush Farm

One of five Paul Revere Bells in VT

A beautiful and fun-filled day. I love the covered bridges! I have seen three so far and we will see a bunch more on our day trips. Actually, we have fallen in love with Vermont. What do you call a southerner who summers in Vermont? We went to Woodstock and saw the Billings Farm and Museum. We walked from the beautiful town of Woodstock, about a mile and half round trip. Rested and had lunch and, of course, shopped a bit. Then on to Queechee to shop and see the Gorge. Cheese jumped in our car and I told it to get out that we were on a diet. The Cabot cheese assured me that there was no calories on vacation!FRD has lost it! Ever since he was tied to the RR tracks by the Thug, he has had a weird fascination with trains. Today he jumped on the front of a train and wanted to ride it. You can tell by the picture that it was very dangerous so we convinced him to ride on top of the engine. He finally conceded only if we promised him he could have his picture taken with Mr. Moose. After that we immediately put him back in the glove compartment where he is safe. Sugarbush Cheese and Maple Syrup Farm was our next stop. Again a little voice said, "No calories on vacation." We knew better and assured each other that we would take it home and serve it to our guests. On our way back to Ludlow, we just happened upon Long Trail Brewery and stopped for dinner and you guessed it, beer.
