Squirrel visits

First of all, we wish every Father out there a Very Happy Father’s Day.

We hope that each and every one of you had a great day today.

Our day began when Marilyn rolled over and put her arms around me, then whispered “Happy Father’s Day, Honey.

When we crawled out of bed, we sat in the living room with some hot coffee, talking about our route of travel to different destinations on our agenda.

We made the decision to go outdoors for our second cup of coffee.

With sweatshirts on to guard against the chilly morning weather, we sat beside the fire pit, enjoying the sight of four deer who wandered around the campground.

Once the coffee was gone, we walked to the office to call Jen & Steve.

We spoke to Colby and told him about the deer. He then asked if he could come over for a few minutes. Oh my!

We miss those grandkids so much!

We absolutely love living this lifestyle but the down side is being so far away from the grandkids.

Back at the RV we decided to cook breakfast outdoors and eat at the picnic table.

I fried bacon while Marilyn sliced potatoes and onions. I cooked those when the bacon was done, while Marilyn fixed scrambled eggs, toast and orange juice inside.

We sure enjoyed that wonderful breakfast, sitting under the shade of the pine trees, with a nice breeze and the wonderful blue skies above.

That was a fine way to begin our day.

Many of the RV’s pulled out this morning, headed home or off to another adventure.

Marilyn browned some delicious pork loin, added apples, onions, sauerkraut, apple juice, brown sugar and celery seeds, and then cooked the entire thing in the slow cooker.

We have apple and cherry pie for dessert, and some wine to sip with dinner.

We watched the final round of the U.S. Open golf tourney and relaxed for most of the day.

Life is Good!
