What a day! There were Bulls coming out of every nook and cranny. We spent the day at Uncle Joe and Kathy's house. Yesterday was Uncle Joe's birthday and tomorrow is Father's Day, so the Illinois Bulls combine the two events into one BIG day. The kitchen wasn't big enough to hold all the food - which was fantastic, by the way. Joe and Kathy's first great, great granddaughter was there - just 3 weeks old. We got there around 2:00 and left around 8:00 and people were coming and going all day long.
There was a poker game going on in the basement - I think the players changed but the game was continuous the whole time I was there. At one point, several "adults" took all the smaller kids to the park and amazingly, the house got pretty quiet for a while. But then inevitably, they came back. I gave up trying to understand how everyone was related to everyone else. I figured I was doing good just to learn the names of the people sitting near me. Bob however was doing much better with the generational relationships. I thinks he's got the first cousins down pat and could probably get a passing grade on the second cousin test, but beyond that he starts to get a little fuzzy.
We headed back to the RV for a potty break for Darby - she's so good at being left alone in the RV by herself. She knows it's her job to guard while we're gone.
The we headed over to "Hey Bryan's". It cousin Dean's bar and every time we're in Illinois, we tell ourselves we're going to go see it. Well tonight we did. It was Karaoke night and there was quite a few Bulls there. John and his girlfriend Annie were up at the Karaoke machine quite often. I noticed that John was having trouble following the words - I actually think he was making up his own lyrics!!!
After seeing cousin John and Doug dancing, I may have discovered that Bob's inability to dance and lack of rhythm may be hereditary!! And unbelievably, Doug even talked me into singing a song (before the bar got really crowded). We departed at midnight just as the younger crowd started to arrive (but PS we outlasted John and Annie). I've decided what I want for Christmas this year - I want my own bar!!!
