We drove about 40 miles northeast of Santa Barbara to Solvang, CA which is a very picturesque Danish town in the CA mountains. This little town reminded me of Helen, GA which is located in the north Georgia mountains. Of course, we had to try the "Danish" pancakes which were fantastic. The town was dotted with several bakeries but luckily we didn't visit any of them until after breakfast when we weren't tempted. One of the things I said when we left on this trip was that we weren't "allowed" to have dessert in the fifth wheel. And so far, we have been able to keep to that -- if we wanted dessert we could purchase one serving while we were out rather than bringing all that "stuff" in the 5'er. I guess that "rule" is one attempt to help control our weight while traveling.
Today I am really missing being in Florida with Madeline and Harrison. In celebration of Maddie's upcoming seventh birthday, today the kids swam with the dolphins. I have included a couple of pictures that show what a fantastic time they had!!
