We started our trek up the Pacific Coast Highway today with our first stop being Santa Barbara. After we set up at the Santa Barbara Elks Club, we headed downtown to investigate the area. As you can see from the pictures, another picture of us having lunch but on this one, I have to say today I had the best sandwich I have ever had in my life. I am still talking about it == it was an ahi tuna club sandwich -- something unusual but fantastic!!
On the waterfront, there was a skate board/bmx bike park - it was interesting watching the kids do all their tricks and we never saw anyone fall. As we took a walk out on the wooden pier, we saw a "first" - a new way to panhandle -- there were blankets laid out in the sand with signs asking for you to through coins into buckets of water. I have to say it was very ingenious and people were definitely trying their luck at three different stations - I have included a picture of one.
