Near the Financial Center pier

Good evening, New York, it's been a fine day.

She's still there...waving us home

Today was fabulous.

Caryn and I took the Liberty Harbor Ferry across the Hudson River to the Wall Street pier. From there we walked Wall Street until we found the subway and took our first New York subway ride! It wasn't bad but it sure wasn't up to the DC standards. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience though.

We disembarked at Grand Central Station and there it was just as we got to the top of the stairs. Wow! What an imposing building and the interior was just magnificent. Loved seeing it for the first time.

From there we walked up to Times Square and we both expected it to be much larger than it was. Saw the New Year's Eve ball took my obligatory pictures and then caught the double decker open top bus for our afternoon tour. We both got off at Ground Zero, but Caryn stayed and walked over to the Brooklyn Bridge while I caught the Financial Center Ferry back to New Jersey (8 minute trip) to go relieve Hunter.

Loved the day. Loved seeing so many places I've always wanted to see. Loved standing on the 102nd floor of the Empire State Building with no King Kong to worry me.
