Dale:

We were up early this morning. I took a run along the ocean boardwalk out to the lighthouse in Galway. Nice quiet morning...overcast but no rain today. I met Denise on my way back...she had walked 3 or 4 miles down the boardway. What a great way to start the day and to see the area. Going down stairs for a great Irish breakfast!

Dee:

Well , today we started off by Dale taking a run and me taking a walk which made us feel great. Then back to the B&B for breakfast. Met couples from Ohio , 3 brothers and their wives. They were fun to listen to since they were now all empty nesters….just like Dale and I now are =(…. Oh well.

We weren’t sure where we’d end up as usual…off we go down the coastline. Our first stop was at Dunguaire Castle. We also picked up a passenger… his name is Paddy’O Bourgoin…. ha ha. You’ll have to look for him in the pictures as we go along.

For those of you who knew Gezabelle, it turns out he’s her half brother…ha. And for those who didn’t know her, well you’ll have to find me one day and I’ll tell you the story.

There are many castles here in Ireland but they are not castles like in the movies, a lot are abandoned and are sometimes just a single wall that’s left standing. Still very cool….

The coastline is very rugged and rocky and yet there is grass growing even on the sides of the cliffs in places since they get so much rain.

Ireland is well known for their rock walls but I never knew how many rock walls there really were…I mean it looks like if you have a house you need a rock wall fence, you need a fence for your cows, sheep or any animal you put up a rock wall. I mean I want my own Irishman so that he can build me the rock walls I want….. =)

We got to the Cliffs of Moher and ended the day with some sightseeing. We took a ferry ride to save some time but a few oopsies in misdirections and well….we got to Killarney later than we wanted to…so off to dinner.

Tonight we went into Killarney for dinner and traditional Irish music. We were not disappointed in either. Came back late….time for bed….
