Yesterday we drove from Bardstown, KY to Marengo, OH and today we drove on to Salamanca, NY. Allegheny National Recreation Area and Allegany State Park are both near Salamanca. We drove through Allegany State Park this afternoon. It was a pretty drive with wild flowers and trees that looked like they had just leafed out. There were several ponds - we saw a beaver working on his dam at one pond and beavers swimming across a couple of the other ponds. We stopped by the lake where several people were swimming. Since it was hot we decided to wade a little to cool off.....COLD water!

We were tired tonight and went to bed early - we met a couple of families camping beside us Friday night and stayed up very late talking to them. That won’t happen at this campground....other than us there is one tent and we haven’t seen those people.
