Our last major trip out of Sorrento was the scary coastal bus ride from here to Positano and on to Amalfi. If you ever saw an Italian movie where they drive fast along the cliff edge this would be the drive. It about an hour and half and it gives a whole new meaning to the expression ‘living on the edge’ Not only is the road one and a half times a car width that function as two lanes but Italian drivers are crazy. They overtake on hairpin bends, of which there are dozens on this road, they park just anywhere and it is nearly impossible to pass them.
We made it and it was well worth while as Amalfi, and the entire Neapolitan Riviera is beautiful with endless beautiful scenes and Kodak Moments. We only have limited space on the website to show them.
We took a boat ride back to Positano which is the poster town for southern Italy, hanging off the mountain with steep tiny streets and thousands of steps. Set as the background of the deep blue sea it is a magical place. From Positano we took another boat trip back to Sorrento so we could take in the entire coastline. Another wonderful day in the sunshine.
This is our last day before we head back to the cooler climate of England tomorrow.
Hope all is well in your world.
