Rest Stop

Campsite in the pines

Hiking Bright Angel trail

Rich films from the edge

The perfect picnic spot

The North Rim of the Grand Canyon was breath taking. We drove the 42 miles from our campground to hike the Bright Angel Trail and it was quite the climb, but worth it when we got to the lookout spot. The North Rim is so peaceful and quiet, compared to the South Rim we visited three years ago. There were far less people and not nearly as commercialized. You could stand at the viewing spots and just hear absolutely nothing…..just look at the beautiful vermillion cliffs. We stopped at a picnic area for lunch and found that there was a wedding spot set up right on the edge of one of the cliffs. How cool would that be for your wedding???

Yesterday we drove south to Williams, which is right on Route 66. It’s a great little town that has old diners, cowboy shows in the street, and rustic gift shops that are fun to explore. We also found a spot tonight that was called Poncho McGillicuddy’s….yes, that’s right….Mexican/ Irish. It was a fun spot and the live music was good.

Robert left this morning to drive to Vegas as Celeste is flying in there in the morning. We’ll go there tomorrow with Gary and Penny. It was fun here but we’re on to another adventure. We have reservations at the military campsite in Las Vegas so that should be a good stop. We’ll be in touch….for gas money after our stay in Vegas!!!!!! LOL LOL

Just a note to all who know Ella Yaple….she is recovering well after having a stent this morning. We’re so thankful her stay in the hospital will be a short one.

That’s it for tonight. Love, Carole, Rich, and Zeta Bear
