Bec's Adventure 2010 travel blog

This morning we started our day early to miss the main heat of the day. We had a short cycle rickshaw which took us to the main temple in Madumalai again and we wandered around taking it all in and getting some photos. It was a popular wedding day and we saw a couple of brides with their henna tattos and hair braided with jewels in beautiful red saris.

After that we went to a place where they were making cotton material by hand.

Devonne and I were unimpressed by the menu offered at lunch (omellette sandwich anyone?!) so we went up the road to get some street food, yum! Samosas and onion baji and a bunch of other stuff for about 15 cents!

On the way to Periyer we stopped to do a village walk which was brilliant. The people love when you take photos of them and show them which is fantastic because you can get amazing shots of them. One little girl dragged me around to meet her family and was so cute making sure I saw her whole village.

We arrived at Periyar which is a really pretty little mountain town. We went to a marshal arts show and it was a combo of sticks, yoga, swords and fire twirling...then afterwards we got to go and pose with all the gear of course.
