Indian River across Hwy 1 from Oasis RV Park
We are enjoying the warm weather and really are glad we decided to come south. It is so cold and icky at home, I don't envy anyone for the weather they are having up north. I feel a little guilty that we are having such wonderful warm weather...but I'm going to enjoy it anyway ;-D The water here is like what we had in Arizona, so we've been getting bottled water to drink and cook with. It's hard for me to imagine that it doesn't come from the tap tasting so good, like the water at home does. My sister's well water tastes even better then ours does.... We have a number of springs in our hometown (House Springs, MO :-)) and the spring water is crystal clear..... but we are now on county water where we live. Still it is good right from the tap. We walked around the RV park this morning around 11:00 and talked to a few of the people staying here for the winter. Some of the people were playing a beanbag game kind of game like horseshoes....they do this every Tuesday morning at 10 AM...so, they told us to come back next Tuesday to play (they were into their game already when we stopped to watch). We walked across the road (Hwy 1) to the dock and went out on the dock into the Indian River. The temp was near 70 with a breeze...it was great. Queeny came with us for the walk and is doing really well for such a timid dog, she's a good traveler and starting to warm up to people (atleast while we are outside walking). We ate lunch at the RV and right now Joe is reading and I'm on the computer, I've got a book started and I'll be reading in just a bit too. We'll probably do some touring of the area tomorrow. But we're just going to vegetate in the warmth for today . Oooops, did I say Joe was reading...he just went to take a nap :-) |
