We head back to camp for the night.
We had some heavy rain and thunderstorm activity last night so we decided to cut Yellowstone a night short and get a head start towards Mt. Rushmore. We made an unintended stop at the Battle of Little Big Horn site also known as Custer's last stand. It was well worth it, we happened to be there for the anniversary weekend of the battle which happened on June 25th, 1876. We were lucky enough to get the perfect park ranger to set the stage and fill us in on all the details of the battle (he was a retired high school football coach who could have easily been a drill Sergent too). It was like he was giving us a first hand talk after being there himself. We will set off to Mt. Rushmore in the early AM and meet up with Sandy's sister Frances, her husband Jarrad and their 4 beautiful kids(up from their home in Oklahoma) for a couple of days of fun together. See you then.
