Today we made a trip to Valley Forge National Historical Park, Pa. Wow...never knew what the men fighting for freedom went through under less than desirable conditions. They didn't rebel under their deplorable condition and lack of supplies. They were 'determined to persevere'. There was no battle at Valley Forge except the battle for survival and morale. Nearly one in ten died from disease or illness that winter in 1777. They were determined to defeat the British to gain our independence and freedom.

This is the greatest country in the world and we owe it to the men and women who made a commitment to defend our nation at home and from those who threaten us from around the world....(gene)
