Even though I was the last to bed, Day 2 started with me rousing Becky at dawn for a morning dip. After recovering from her initial crankiness, Becky met me on deck and we swam towards shore. After about 20 minutes, we decided that Sally and Brent should make good on their vow to enjoy a sunrise dip. We swam past their windows yelling "Sally" and "Brent". In honor of my father, I even did an impressive rendition of "Everybody, Up, Up, Up, Up, Up." It went over about as well as it did when Dad tried to get me up in high school, but it did work.
Around 7, we pulled up anchor and headed for Cat Ba Island, where we ate "brekkie," checked into our hotel and headed out for the day. We spent the morning exploring a cave nearby and then went to "Monkey Island." The monkeys weren't that impressive, but Becky enjoyed being among her own kind and I enjoyed the beach time. Later, we returned to Cat Ba, where we had a fish dinner on the sea overlooking a weird Vegas-style display of Christmas lights - including life-size Christmas trees. (We actually see a lot of Christmas decorations around here, although I'm not quite sure why.)
