Yesterday we got up about 7am. We got slowly got up and dressed and headed down to The Local Yolk for breakfast and coffee. It's a cute little place one building over from our Inn. The good and environment was a great start to our morning.
Once we finished breakfast we went back to the hotel to finish getting ready to go somewhere. I was unsure where we were going for a loooong time!
Our drive took us about 4hrs north. We had an absolutely beautiful drive into the mountains and desert. The drive was breath taking. When we reached the mountains we entered into Sequoia National Forest Park. You could spend a week in the park and not see half of it. There was rolling hills, rocky mountain peaks, snowy peaks, mountains with no trees, mountains with tall pines. Every corner you turned you would see a whole new view.
After a long ride we finally made it to the land of 100 Giants. The Sequoia trees. They are amazing. You could put 10 people hand to hand and still not touch the other person around the trunks of these trees. They are estimated to be between 500 and 1,000 years old!!
After our tour around the windy roads, steep drop offs - we finally headed back to LA. We were very hungry and tired. We made it back about 9pm and ate at a little Mexican place down the road. The restaurant was romantically decorated and had lots of Mexican antiques. The food was deliscious and we almost devoured everything.
Once we ate we headed back to the Inn and passed out. It was a wonderful day of exploring!
