May 31st, 2010 We're really on our way to Alaska!!

We crossed the border this morning around 9ish. After not sleeping last night,,,,, worrying about the border crossing both George and I are exhausted. There are so many rules of what you can and can't bring across. We tried really hard to read all the material off the Internet to be within their guidelines..... but in the end it was a piece of cake crossing over. The border guard was really only interested in how long we planned to being in Canada! I don't know why I get so nervous about crossing borders. It's not like we're doing anything wrong. But it is a little intimidating going to another country!!

The drive today was easy, we only traveled 200 miles or so. The roads were windy and narrow and they (Canadians) are working on their road much like we Americans. As we crossed the border the landscaped changed, the mountains seem to be much larger! It was to bad we had such a cloudy day, we only had a small glimpses of the snow on the mountains. We never did see the tops of them! We arrived in the little village of Clinton, traveling on the same roads that was used during the Gold Rush era.

George, Charlie and I took a walk through the town after dinner. There are signs up and down the streets telling you the history of the town during the Gold Rush.

This was once a busy little place!!

Till next time,

Robin
