|I got up early today planning to go back to Shenandoah but had a flat tire. I had someone change it for me (the AARP motoring plan seems to respond as well as AAA) and then made phone calls trying to find a place to get new tires. I found a place a half hour from here but they won't have the tires until morning so I'm glad I wasn't planning to go too far today. Luckily I have a "real" spare tire and it's in good shape so I'm not grounded. I went over to the local country club and played nine holes on a beautiful, hilly golf course with some of the women's club. The golf course had a lot of butterflies, including monarchs, and turtles near all the water hazards. I could only play nine, though, because by 11:30 it was already over 90 degrees. After a short drive to see the rest of the park I went for shelter. I went back to the motel and found out that they have severe thunderstorm warnings out for this area the rest of the day. Until the storm I'm staying protected and cool in A/C and in the pool. Can't do much of the pool, though, because I don't want to get sunburned and don't want to be there when lightning strikes.
