What a week trekking!!!
We arrived in Longsheng last Monday and stayed in the village renound for its Long-haired ladies!! On the first day of trekking we watched the Long-haired ladies in a cultural performance before hitting the road. Literally the road. i was a little worried as in my mind i had trekking to be something off the beaten track, more footpaths as opposed to a main road. But the following days made up for this as we began the real trek through the rice terraces. The walks were stunning and even despite the thunderstorms and heavy down pours we were able to complete the walks and take some beautiful pictures!!!
It was a great week, staying in the minority villages and trekking the rice fields - stunning!
Now, things have changed... we returned to Guilin for the last night of the 'China Experience' as this week is my extra week where Helen and I have taken an 18.5hour train journey to the province of Yunnan where we are to stay and visit Kunming. So far so good. Staying in a great hostel recommended in the lonely planet of course. It's going to be a great last week in China, but i dont want it to end!!!
Weirdly i feel like i have been here forever but then again the time has passed too quickly! China is such a huge and vast country that i have only seen the tiniest bit!! There is sooooooooooooo much more to see!!!
